Regions Bank recently announced that Candy Moore will join the company as head of Community Development.
Moore will lead a team of community development managers who partner with Regions business and market leaders, Risk Management and other teams across the bank to provide guidance on community development activities such as affordable housing, economic and small-business development, neighborhood revitalization and community service. Moore and her team will ensure that the bank’s lending, philanthropy and other activities align with guidance associated with the Community Reinvestment Act, or CRA.
Moore has spent the last 15 years of her 30-year banking career in leadership roles in the areas of community development and community relations, most recently as community relations regional leader at Citi. While there, she managed a team dedicated to conducting CRA activities within the central-southeast region with internal and external stakeholders, community advocates and corporate counterparts.
I’m so pleased to have someone with Candy’s extraordinary experience to lead our community development activities.

Prior experience includes various leadership roles in community development, marketing and retail banking at Wells Fargo and predecessor banks Wachovia and First Union.
Throughout her career Moore has developed and supported programs that promote economic and community development, education and workforce readiness and financial wellness, which coincide with Regions’ community engagement priorities.
“I’m so pleased to have someone with Candy’s extraordinary experience to lead our community development activities,” said Leroy Abrahams, head of Community Engagement at Regions. “With her broad financial background and deep subject-matter expertise in several areas of community engagement, I’m confident we’ll continue to make great strides in our commitment to foster inclusive prosperity in the communities we serve.”
That corporate commitment was a big factor in Moore’s decision to make the move to Regions.
“I am so excited to join Regions,” she said. “I was motivated by the supportive workplace culture and the company’s commitment to engaging with local communities and driving impactful initiatives.
“I am looking forward to leveraging my skills and enthusiasm to advance Regions’ mission of making a positive difference in communities and building meaningful connections with those we serve.”

Community service and leadership are not just left at the office at the end of the workday – they’re a big part of Moore’s life.
She serves on the board of directors for Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE), a community reinvestment financial institution (CDFI) that helps under-resourced business owners grow their businesses through capital, coaching and connections.
Moore has served on boards for the Atlanta Business League, Morehouse School of Medicine’s Women with Heart, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, the Mayoral Board of Service for the City of Atlanta, the Corporate Campaign Leadership Council of the United Negro College Fund and is a former member of the board of trustees for Converse College.
Moore is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., The Links, Incorporated, and is a sustainer in the Junior League of Atlanta. She has received numerous awards and honors for her professional, civic, and community leadership. She’s a graduate of Converse College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing and was a congressional intern for former U. S. Congressman John Spratt, Jr. of South Carolina.
“From a young age, my parents taught me the importance of giving back,” Moore reflected. “They were true role models, demonstrating their commitment to our community through their actions. Whether volunteering at local organizations or helping those in need, they showed me the profound impact of collective action and community involvement.”
I find immense joy in collaborating with diverse groups to empower communities and amplify their voices, knowing we can create a brighter future for everyone.
