Jackson State University, an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) located in Jackson, Mississippi, is a storied university with an historic mission of empowering diverse students to become leaders. Designated as the Urban University of the State of Mississippi, JSU boasts distinguished alumni, award-winning faculty, quality academics, competitive athletic teams, and a world-renowned band program.

Now, through Regions’ long-standing partnership with Jackson State University, students, alumni, faculty and supporters have a new way to show their Jackson State Tiger Pride with a personalized debit card.

Regions has a proud history of supporting JSU and other HBCUs in our footprint, providing financial education and supporting student and alumni engagement and athletics.
Abbas Merchant, head of corporate marketing

“Regions has a proud history of supporting JSU and other HBCUs in our footprint, providing financial education and supporting student and alumni engagement and athletics,” says Abbas Merchant, head of corporate marketing. “We’re excited to expand our relationship by offering fans and supporters of JSU a uniquely branded debit card.”

Kamesha Hill, executive director of Auxiliary Enterprises at Jackson State University says that “Establishing partnerships with financial institutions and developing affinity cards/debit cards has been a work in progress for the Auxiliary Enterprises team. We are committed to enhancing the brand recognition of Jackson State University. Our goal is to support the University by implementing three objectives: protection, promotion, and profit. The Regions Bank partnership and card will assist with our continued recruiting efforts and garner alumni and friends’ support of Jackson State University.”

The JSU card is available exclusively to Regions’ customers. Existing customers can order the card through Regions branches, by calling 1-800-REGIONS, or through the online Regions YourPix Studio® at regions.com/yourpixstudio. If you do not currently have a checking account, you can open an account online or visit your local Regions branch and select the JSU card. The JSU debit card can be used with all Regions Bank personal checking accounts, including checking accounts for students.

Constance V. Lawson, executive director of major & planned gifts unit in the division of Institutional Advancement, says the University is eager to promote the card to supporters of Jackson State University. “This is a great way to show support for Jackson State and I look forward to seeing people using these new cards around campus and around town.”
