New Heights in Huntsville: Regions Bank Names Chris Patty as Commercial Banking Leader

Patty is part of Regions’ strategic and steady support for continued economic growth in Huntsville, Madison County and beyond.

By Jennifer Elmore | August 18, 2025

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aug. 18, 2025 –Regions Bank on Monday announced Chris Patty has joined the bank as Commercial Banking leader, serving business clients ranging from small-businesses to major employers.

With continued economic growth in Huntsville, Madison County, and across the Tennessee River Valley, Regions is expanding its Commercial Banking presence to provide more bankers focused on helping businesses refine their financial plans and reach long-term goals. Huntsville is one of Regions’ top priority markets for growth. Patty, along with the local team, will serve a crucial role in helping existing companies build on their growth. Further, he will help clients who are new or expanding in the Tennessee Valley to benefit from the financial insights of a veteran local banker.

Regions and its predecessor banks trace their roots directly back to Huntsville, serving the Tennessee River Valley for roughly 190 years.

As part of his new role, Patty will collaborate with colleagues in Regions’ Consumer Banking and Wealth Management business groups to reach the goals of Regions360. Through Regions360, bankers throughout the company’s various departments work together as one team to deliver more comprehensive solutions tailored to meet the goals of individual clients.

Patty will report to Sean Kelly, executive vice president of Commercial Banking for Regions and Huntsville market executive.

“No one has the legacy of service that Regions Bank has here in Huntsville, and bringing Chris Patty onto our team is a clear indication of our commitment to building on our presence and furthering our growth in this dynamic market,” said Kelly. “Chris deeply cares about the Valley, and he’s in tune with the opportunities facing business clients and individuals as our economy continues to evolve. Working with him as your banker is to work with a trusted friend, and we’re proud to have him on board.”

A financial services veteran of 32 years, Patty joins Regions from Bank of America, where he most recently served as a senior vice president in Commercial Banking for the Southeast region. He began his career at SouthTrust Bank, now Wells Fargo, and has held various leadership positions in Commercial Banking throughout his career.

Patty has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

“For the last several years, more people and businesses have been discovering how North Alabama is an incredible place to live and do business. But Regions Bank has known that all along,” Patty said. “That’s why I’m proud to bring my experience to a company that has always had a presence here – one that informs and inspires its bankers to deliver superior service for the place we call home. The Tennessee Valley is still growing at a rapid pace. We aim to support that growth with thoughtful services and community support.”
