BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Oct. 7, 2025 – Regions Bank on Tuesday announced Kate Danella, head of Regions’ Consumer Banking Group, has again been honored by American Banker magazine as one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.”
Now in its 23rd year, the American Banker recognition pays tribute to senior executives whose leadership and performance have a substantial business and financial impact benefiting not only their bank but also customers and communities. Danella’s recognition is featured in the magazine’s October issue. This is the fourth consecutive year she has earned this honor. This also marks Danella’s seventh consecutive year overall to earn various accolades from the publication for her leadership at Regions.
“No one knows our vibrant, growing markets better than Regions, and no one knows our customers better than Kate,” said John Turner, Chairman, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp.
“Every day, Kate is a champion for the customer, guiding our teams in offering superior service through tailored financial guidance. We are connecting more people and small businesses with resources to manage and grow their money. Kate works closely with Technology leaders to evolve our digital channels,” Turner said. “She envisions new ways we can serve our clients, continue to grow deposits, and help our customers grow their accounts. We are proud of how customer satisfaction continues to grow – and how American Banker recognizes Kate’s incredible leadership.”

Danella was elevated to serve as head of the Consumer Banking group in 2022 after serving as Chief Strategy and Client Experience Officer. The Consumer Banking group includes the Retail branch network, along with Regions Mortgage and Home Improvement Financing. Together, Consumer Banking is the largest line of business for the bank.
Danella joined Regions in 2015 as Wealth Strategy and Effectiveness Executive, later leading Private Wealth Management and serving as head of Strategic Planning and Consumer Bank Products and Origination Partnerships. Before Regions, Danella held leadership roles for 13 years in sales, strategy, client services and marketing for Capital Group Companies.
“Everything we do must be focused on our customers and what will help us continue to earn their trust and their business time and time again,” Danella said. “We’re offering more focused, more intentional service – helping people build financial confidence and success.
“We’re here to meet our customers wherever they are, from the branch down the street, to the device in the palm of your hand,” she said. “While I am humbled and thankful for this recognition, our greatest satisfaction comes from the moments where we help people reach a goal through the insights and service we were able to provide.”
