Kerri Raines, Managing Director within Regions Real Estate Capital Markets
What
Fannie Mae’s 2023 DUS Lender Awards rank the top originators in several categories including overall, multifamily affordable housing, and specialty financing. In 2023, Fannie Mae provided more than $52 billion in financing to support the multifamily market, expanding access to affordable housing for those who need it most through its Delegated Underwriting and Servicing (DUS®) platform. Fannie Mae’s 2023 DUS Lender Awards rank the top originators in several categories including overall, multifamily affordable housing, and specialty financing.
Raines’s achievements were recognized this year as she was named a Top 10 Originator in the 2023 DUS Lender Awards.
Why
During the nearly seven years in her role (now as Managing Director and previously as Director), Raines has distinguished herself as a leader in placing permanent secured debt, particularly through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with additional placements through FHA loans and Life Company debt when beneficial to clients. Serving primarily REITs and Institutional Funds that own and operate extensive multifamily portfolios, Raines has successfully placed around $3 billion in secured, non-recourse debt over nearly seven years.
Her consistent top production record and exceptional 2023 performance are a testament to her strategic advisory skills, which were crucial during the bond market disruption. This disruption provided a pathway for better-priced agency financing, attracting institutional multifamily clients to explore secured debt options over more expensive unsecured notes. Raines’ dedication to client service, deep market experience, and ability to build long-term relationships were instrumental to her 2023 success, with 14 of 15 transactions closed with repeat borrowers.
Noteworthy among her 2023 transactions were a $350 million structured credit facility and a $298 million bulk delivery execution, both highlighting her adept analysis and strategic advisement.
Raines’s hard work helps further establish Regions Real Estate Capital Markets as a top producer for structured transactions. Regions Real Estate Capital Markets was ranked by Fannie Mae as a Top 5 DUS Producer for Structured Transactions in 2023, which can be partially credited to Raines’ successes during the year.
