Growing in Metro Atlanta: Regions Bank Opens Three Modern Locations Built Around Service and Technology

New branches become the latest examples of Regions’ investments in the Atlanta area.

By Jennifer Elmore | December 16, 2019

ATLANTA, Ga. – Dec. 16, 2019 – Regions Bank is expanding its Atlanta-area market presence with the addition of three new branches that combine personal service and modern technology in a way that represents the future of branch banking.

The bank is now welcoming customers at recently opened branches at the Sandy Plains branch in Marietta at 3028 Shallowford Road and at the Village Shoppes at Windermere in Suwanee at 3110 Old Atlanta Road. An additional branch opens today in Suwanee at 1085 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

With the opening of these locations, Regions has now unveiled nine modern branch facilities in metro Atlanta since the start of 2018. Additional new branches are planned for 2020.

With the opening of each branch, we expand our capacity to serve North Georgia and help more customers meet their financial goals.
Bill Linginfelter, Regions’ Atlanta-area Market Executive

“The opening of our locations in Sandy Plains, Cumming and Suwanee represents a significant milestone in our commitment to bringing more convenient and more meaningful banking to people and businesses across metro Atlanta,” said Bill Linginfelter, Regions’ Atlanta-area Market Executive. “With the opening of each branch, we expand our capacity to serve North Georgia and help more customers meet their financial goals.”

Each new branch combines modern design with advanced technology. The locations are built around an open floor plan rather than a traditional teller line. Instead of waiting to be called to a counter, when people walk into the branches, they are greeted personally by a local Regions banker. Further, in addition to routine transactions, each banker at the new branches can provide a broader array of services, rather than referring customers to other bankers for more specialized needs.

Regions Sandy Plains Branch
Sandy Plains branch manager Gwen Cole, center, and her team of Regions associates are prepared to help customers with general transactions while also offering in-depth conversations to help meet in-depth financial needs.

“While Regions continues to invest in online and mobile banking channels, branches are still the primary place where people prefer to open accounts and have in-depth discussions about personal financial goals,” said Sharon Hightower, Consumer Banking Executive for Regions in Georgia. “Our focus is helping people bank when, where and how they want. These new branches complement our digital network and add to our existing physical network of branches across Atlanta and surrounding communities.”

The branches also reflect the growing number of locations offering Regions Video Banking. In addition to accepting deposits of cash and checks, along with processing withdrawals or transfers, Video Banking ATMs allow customers to choose to connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help customers with account maintenance and general inquiries during expanded hours.

Regions Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET. They are also available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sundays from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and during most holidays.

Each of the new branches includes walk-up Video Banking ATMs in the drive-through and in the foyer. The foyer is accessible after-hours by scanning a debit or credit card with a magnetic stripe for entry.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s ATMs can always provide deposit and withdrawal services – and can cash checks – around the clock, providing another easy, convenient option for Regions customers.

Regions Village Shoppes Branch
The Village Shoppes of Windermere is one of three new branch locations across metro Atlanta providing a modern layout and updated technology to make banking easier.

While the locations are now open for business, each branch will host a grand opening in early 2020. Customers and the community will be invited to stop by to see the branches’ features during a celebration event where special drawings and giveaways will be provided during the day. Event locations and dates are:

  • Village Shops at Windermere: Saturday, Feb. 29 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Sandy Plains: Saturday, March 28 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Suwanee: Saturday, April 18 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
