Expanded Access. More Personal Service. Regions Bank Announces Modern Carbondale, Ill., Branch

New location delivers more personal service and more convenient technology.

By Jeremy King | November 20, 2019

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Nov. 20, 2019 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced the opening of a modern Carbondale branch that combines personal service from local bankers with more updated and convenient technology.

“At Regions, we are committed to making banking easier and delivering services that help our customers reach their financial goals,” said Curt Metten, Consumer Banking Manager for Regions in Carbondale. “This location will help our team deliver superior service to longtime customers – while welcoming new customers who are seeking customized financial advice and guidance from bankers who are part of our community.”

When people arrive at the new location at 816 W. Main St., they will not need to wait in a traditional teller line. Instead, customers are greeted personally by a banker who takes the time to listen to individual needs and can deliver a full range of branch-banking services – from quick transactions to more in-depth needs.

The branch also emphasizes greater convenience by offering Regions Video Banking ATMs for the first time in Carbondale. Through these ATMs, customers can choose standard ATM service – or they can connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video for personal service during an expanded set of hours.

Regions Video Bankers can answer customers’ questions, provide account maintenance, process transactions, and more – all in real time.

Regions Video Bankers are available from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. CT on weekdays. They are also available on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and during most holidays. The Video Banking ATMs can be found in the branch’s drive-through, in addition to a walk-up machine near the branch’s entrance.

The ATMs also offer Regions DepositSmart services around the clock. Through DepositSmart, Regions customers can use the ATMs to not only withdraw cash – but also make deposits of cash or checks at any time.

The new location replaces two older Regions facilities, which were at 500 W. Main St. and 601 E. Main St.

Regions will host a ribbon cutting with the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. to formally dedicate the new facility.

“Whenever Regions builds a new location, we look at several factors, including customer traffic and volume. We also look for properties that give us the right amount of space to deliver a branch-banking experience that’s custom-tailored to meet the needs of today’s consumers,” said Michael Pardue, Consumer Banking Executive for Regions. “This location meets those needs and keeps Regions conveniently accessible to individuals and businesses throughout Carbondale. We are excited to welcome the community to this modern facility, and we invite everyone to see what sets Regions apart as we build on our legacy of service in Southern Illinois.”
