Regions Bank Names Florida Native Dorothy Blasingim as Fort Myers Market Executive

Veteran banking leader has a long record of service and success to guide community efforts.

By Nestor Mato | November 19, 2024

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Nov. 19, 2024 – Regions Bank on Tuesday announced Consumer Banking Manager Dorothy Blasingim has been elevated to also serve as market executive for the bank in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and surrounding areas.

Blasingim is a Fort Myers native with 40 years of banking experience. That includes more than 20 years at Regions leading branch-banking operations for more than a dozen Regions branch locations in communities including Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and Naples.

“Much of Regions’ success in Southwest Florida can be attributed to Dorothy Blasingim and her commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience,” said John Turner, Chairman, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “The region is thriving with more people and businesses discovering what makes the area a wonderful place to live and work. Dorothy is the right leader to help Regions build on our investments in Florida by reaching new customers and creating deeper relationships with the people and businesses we already serve. She also believes in the power of community involvement, and her insights will help us continue to grow our nonprofit support in Fort Myers and beyond.”

As market executive, Blasingim will manage the bank’s comprehensive Regions360 approach to identifying and meeting customers’ unique banking needs. She will partner with Regions colleagues in the company’s Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other departments to deliver comprehensive, holistic financial solutions that are tailored for clients’ individual goals.

“Our teams don’t view customers through a transactional lens; rather, we take a relationship-based approach,” said Blasingim. “Southwest Florida has welcomed new residents and businesses while continuing to serve our longtime clients and, to me, it is vital that all our customers know, with Regions, they have access to customized financial guidance that helps them manage their accounts, grow their finances, secure new homes, and more. I am honored to lead that charge.”

Blasingim will also oversee Regions’ strategy for community engagement in the market, encompassing the bank’s focus on Economic and Community Development, Education and Workforce Readiness, and Financial Wellness initiatives. Her passion for helping children has motivated past volunteer activities including co-chairing a Make a Wish Foundation walk and being a wish grantor. She has been a volunteer for United Way and various nonprofit agencies.

Blasingim is succeeding Earnest Wilks. Wilks’ extraordinary service led him to accept a new role with Regions as Credit Officer covering Orlando.

A true Florida native, Blasingim enjoys a great beach vacation and spending time with her family and granddaughter.
