Delta Native Ryan Strawbridge Joins Regions Bank as Market Executive and Commercial Banker

Strawbridge’s roots run deep across the Delta. He’ll leverage empathy and experience to make life and business better for his beloved native region.

By Veleka Finch | June 21, 2023

GREENWOOD, Miss. – June 21, 2023 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced Ryan Strawbridge has joined the company as market executive and Commercial Banking relationship manager for the Mississippi Delta region.

Strawbridge has nearly 20 years of banking experience in North and Central Mississippi. He’s a native of Indianola, where he most recently served as market president for Planters Bank and Trust Company for the past three years. In his Commercial Banking role at Regions, Strawbridge will specialize in developing financial solutions for medium-sized business clients.

As market executive, Strawbridge will collaborate with leaders from Regions’ various business groups to help their teams deliver Regions360, the bank’s comprehensive approach to meeting customers’ needs. Through Regions360, bankers get to know the unique needs of clients and collaborate with colleagues in Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, Mortgage Banking, Wealth Management, and other teams to develop holistic financial solutions.

Further, Strawbridge will guide the collaboration of colleagues and community members to advance the bank’s community engagement initiatives throughout the Delta. Regions’ strategy for community engagement prioritizes investments and volunteerism in three key areas:

  • Economic and Community Development
  • Education and Workforce Readiness
  • Financial Wellness

“At Regions, we are focused on building more inclusive prosperity and business success throughout the Mississippi Delta. Ryan Strawbridge’s credibility as a native son – whose  career has focused on creating economic and community success for the region – will elevate our efforts and help us build deeper customer relationships,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “Ryan is driven by a desire to see more people and businesses thrive. That drive, combined with the full range of Regions’ products and services, is the winning formula to help us build on our legacy of service to the Delta.”

Strawbridge succeeds Walt Stephens, who was elevated to a Commercial Banking leadership role in Metro Jackson.

“Joining Regions is enabling me to do the things I most enjoy about banking – and those are working directly with clients and providing a wide selection of financial solutions to help them solve problems and reach their goals,” Strawbridge said. “I’m also networking, listening to people in the community, uncovering needs and collaborating with colleagues on ways Regions can fill those needs.”

Strawbridge added, “I was born in the Delta, educated in the Delta, and have  built most of my life’s work in the Delta. It’s rewarding to be able to serve the Delta in this new, powerful way. The examples set by Walt Stephens and other leaders throughout the bank give us a firm foundation. We’ll be building on that foundation – every day.”

Strawbridge earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a Master of Business Administration from Delta State University.  He also completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
