Building for the Future: Regions Bank Announces Major Renovation of Madison Square Branch in Huntsville

Temporary modular branch will serve customers as renovations are completed.

By Jennifer Elmore | October 31, 2019

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oct. 31, 2019 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced a major renovation for the company’s Madison Square branch along University Drive at Old Monrovia Road.

Over the coming months, the branch will be transformed into one of the most modern Regions locations in North Alabama, featuring a welcoming layout built around personal service as well as convenient technology choices.

“At Regions, we are focused on making banking easier and more meaningful, from our online and mobile services to our modern branch network,” said Ron Poteat, Huntsville Market Executive for Regions Bank. “This branch will become the latest Regions location to combine personal service from local bankers with more updated technology. The result is a convenient branch location that’s built around the needs of today’s consumers.”

A modular Regions branch, similar to the one above, will open on Monday, Nov. 4 to serve Madison Square customers during renovations.

While renovations are underway, a temporary modular branch will be on-site to serve customers. The modular facility functions as a fully staffed branch with Regions associates offering a wide range of financial services. The facility also includes an ATM.

The modular branch will open to customers on Monday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. It will remain on-site until the opening of the renovated facility, which is expected around summer 2020. The name of the renovated facility will change to Regions’ MidCity Huntsville branch upon opening.

The MidCity Huntsville branch will offer a unique layout and features to enhance the customer experience.

When customers walk into the branch, they will no longer need to wait in a traditional teller line. Rather, each customer will be greeted personally and served by local bankers who can provide a full range of branch-banking services.

Access to Safe deposit boxes will be enhanced to allow biometric (face and finger) access, eliminating the need for a branch associate to open the vault and assist with opening a box. In addition, the branch will offer Regions Video Banking ATMs, which give customers the option to connect with a Regions banker via live, two-way video to receive personal service during an expanded set of hours, including nights and weekends.

Regions’ Video Banking ATMs allow people to choose standard ATM service or personal service from a Regions Video Banker who speaks with customers via live, two-way video.

Once renovations are completed, the company’s Research Park branch, which is less than one mile away on Wynn Drive, will merge into Regions’ updated MidCity Huntsville branch.

“Customer traffic and volume helped Regions determine where to build on the bank’s investments in Huntsville with a modernized location,” said Brandon Greve, Consumer Banking Executive for Regions. “This will enable Regions to offer an updated branch in the middle of a well-positioned retail corridor. In turn, it will give our customers and associates a state-of-the-art, well-equipped location to conduct business. We look forward to sharing the ease and convenience of Regions’ new style of branch banking with more customers in Huntsville soon.”
