Building Financial Confidence Early: Regions Bank Highlights New and Enhanced Resources During Financial Literacy Month

Regions invites students, young professionals and others to take advantage of these no-cost resources.

By Jennifer Elmore | March 30, 2026

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – March 30, 2026 – Regions Bank on Monday announced a series of no-cost resources designed to help college students, young adults and others build a strong foundation for financial confidence.

April is Financial Literacy Month, and Regions Bank is reinforcing the importance of developing financial confidence early in life. The bank delivers financial education to schools, businesses and nonprofits through Regions Next Step®, a financial education program available to anyone year-round at no cost, regardless of whether they bank with Regions.

“Life in your 20s is full of money decisions – such as managing rent and car payments, handling student loans, and building credit, and we know it can feel overwhelming,” said John Jordan, head of Retail for Regions Bank. “We are committed to helping students and young adults build financial confidence and creating extraordinary experiences for them. We know that the earlier people start building healthy financial habits, the better prepared they are when the unexpected happens.”

We are committed to helping students and young adults build financial confidence and creating extraordinary experiences for them.
John Jordan, head of Retail for Regions Bank

Regions’ expanded financial wellness resources include:

  • Greenprint On-the-Go: Regions Greenprint® helps people, including students and small-business owners, create a tailored plan to achieve their goals. This year, Regions is expanding access to make it easier to complete a Greenprint plan. People can now take the assessment from any mobile device, computer or tablet after scheduling an appointment at this link. A Regions banker will send a secure link to the assessment. Once it is completed, a banker will reconnect to share insights, review strategies and provide recommendations. Like Regions Next Step, Regions Greenprint is available to anyone, regardless of whether they bank with Regions.

  • Regions Next Step: A special webinar, Basic Budgeting for Students, is available six times throughout the month to help high school and college students with the importance of money management, saving, credit worthiness and safeguarding financial information. Classrooms can dial in together at any school interested in participating.

Additionally, Regions Next Step for Students is launching an enhanced library of self-paced, interactive courses covering topics such as paying for college, understanding student loans, preparing for graduation, taxes, identity protection and more. Each course takes 10 minutes or less to complete and can be accessed via a mobile device, tablet or computer.

  • Coming to Campus: Regions is hosting two special events called Financial Returns: Knowledge That Pays You Back at Alabama A&M University and Auburn University. Beyond managing money, these events will cover career readiness, such as tips on interviewing for a first job, strategic resume building, negotiating first salaries, preventing fraud and other topics. Panel discussions are available via webcast for anyone to access.
  • Alabama A&M University: Wednesday, April 1 at 5 p.m. CT. Register here.
  • Auburn University: Monday, April 6 at noon CT. Register here.

“We approach financial education the same way we approach one-on-one conversations at our neighborhood branches,” Jordan added. “That’s by focusing exclusively on your own needs. While we believe everyone should track spending, build an emergency fund and use credit wisely, our best advice comes from the financial goals people share with us. We hope these events and new content create even more of these moments that matter for them – when we sit down together and create a personalized plan for financial success.”

In 2025, Regions Next Step provided financial education to more than 1.4 million people across the company’s footprint, delivered approximately 12,000 in-person and virtual financial wellness workshops on consumer and business topics, and received 1.8 million financial education content page views. Further, Regions Bank associates completed 17,000 financial education volunteer hours.
