Good Company - Buena Vista Consulting Lessons
Category: Good Company

Asking for Help. It’s How to Succeed in Business.

Buena Vista Consulting, a Good Company outside of Atlanta, is led by a CEO who says the key to improving is a willingness to ask for help.

Asking for help. It’s not always easy – but it can be vital when building a successful small business.

In reaching out for assistance, many small business owners have found a helping hand from Edilene “Etti” Johansson, CEO of Buena Vista Consulting, a Good Company outside of Atlanta that serves as a consultancy for small business owners.

“People need expertise and people need help. They are desperate to know how they can fix their financials,” Johansson said. “Everybody wants to improve and do better in their business. They want to be a better boss and get more customers, be more successful and find ways to be more efficient.”

Johansson’s secret to achieving improvements to a small business: asking for help.

If you are great at cooking, be a good chef; be amazing at what you do and hire out for the other services.

Serving as a one-stop shop for other small business owners seeking help with their accounting, payroll, insurance needs and more is how Johansson assists other businesses trying to grow. From local restaurants to a Spanish-language learning center and beyond, this Sao Paulo-born entrepreneur is giving others the help they need to succeed.

“When I meet someone, I always think about how I can bring a solution for this person,” Johansson explained. “I don’t take things for granted, and I know there is so much more work to get done. There is so much more to improve and so many more lives that need help.”

Just as Johansson helps small business owners in her region, she offers advice for those entrepreneurs also working hard each day to find success.

“Focus on your business and partner with people that you trust, get a good accountant, and, if you have a need for marketing, get someone good in marketing. Just be sure to keep your focus on your business,” Johansson said. “You don’t have to do everything. I think when we try to do the bookkeeping, the payroll, the marketing, and everything else, you’re not giving yourself the chance to grow.”

If you have a dream to be in business or grow the one you have started, Johansson says she has found success by specializing in her services and continuing to learn.

“If you are great at cooking, be a good chef; be amazing at what you do and hire out for the other services. That’s my advice.”
