By Wayne Thompson and Jeremy King | September 27, 2023

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sept. 27, 2023 – Regions Bank on Wednesday announced Kate Danella, head of Regions’ Consumer Banking Group, has again been honored by American Banker magazine as one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.”

“Since Kate joined Regions in 2015, her commitment to innovation and her focus on delivering a superior customer experience have had a meaningful impact on our customers,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp.

“Under her leadership, our Consumer Banking Group has helped people improve their financial wellbeing through tools such as Regions Early Pay and the Regions Protection Line of Credit, as well as Regions Overdraft Grace,” Turner added. “Our teams have worked to broaden access to homeownership, and we’ve expanded the use of Regions’ Greenprint® personalized financial planning tools to support even more individual and small-business customers.”

This is the fifth consecutive year American Banker has included Danella in its various rankings of the industry’s most influential and top-performing women leaders. This year’s honorees are featured in the Banker’s October 2023 issue.

Danella became head of Consumer Banking at Regions in May 2022 after serving as Chief Strategy and Client Experience Officer. She joined the company as Wealth Strategy and Effectiveness Executive, later leading Private Wealth Management and serving as head of Strategic Planning and Consumer Bank Products and Origination Partnerships.

Before Regions, Danella held leadership roles for 13 years in sales, strategy, client services, and marketing for Capital Group Companies.

“By keeping customers at the center of every decision, Kate and her teams are building solid relationships and deeper trust between the bank and our customers,” Turner concluded. “She is a thoughtful, strategic leader who guides and inspires her team to constantly envision how we can raise the bar. And it is rewarding to once again see American Banker recognize and honor her commitment.”
