#BanksNeverAskThat: It’s a Wrap

As the month-long American Bankers Association campaign comes to a close, remember that Regions is fighting for you each and every day.

By Doug Segrest | October 31, 2025

Whew! What a month we’ve had.

Regions Bank once again joined banks nationwide in the American Bankers Association’s #BanksNeverAskThat campaign, an October-long focus aimed at educating everyone about online safety.

Along the way, the campaign told you how to:

  • Recognizing red flags – how criminals use fake emails, texts, phone calls and payment app scams to steal.
  • #PracticeSafeChecks – an platform where the ABA details 7 tips for conducting business more safely.
  • Test your knowledge – with the #BanksNeverAskThat Quiz, a fast and fun test of your ability to recognize fraud.
  • Enjoy some old-school fun – with Scam City, a retro computer game.

Knowledge is the best weapon in fighting fraud.
Kimberly Reece, Financial Crimes Customer Advocacy Manager for Regions Bank

“Knowledge is the best weapon in fighting fraud,” said Kimberly Reece, Financial Crimes Customer Advocacy Manager for Regions Bank. “While the October campaign is a great reminder, bookmark our fraud prevention page so that you can return to Doing More Today for whenever you need extra resources and information to fight back.”

So, protect your hard-earned cash against phishing scams. The key is recognizing the telltale indicators of a scheme, which can come in numerous forms – including emails, phone calls and text messages.

Phishing is big business, producing $16 billion in losses from Americans in 2024, a substantial increase over the year before according to the ABA.

“At Regions, we’re committed to fighting for you,” said Jeff Taylor, head of Commercial Fraud Forensics. “That’s why we support the ABA and it’s why we work at educating our associates, clients and the public throughout the year.”
