The New Texas Southern Debit Card: Celebrate the Maroon and Gray Every Day

Students, alumni and fans can now show their Tiger pride with the new TSU Visa® Debit Card.

By Mel Campbell | February 6, 2025

They say everything is bigger in Texas. Just look at the cities. Look at the universities.

When you’re in Houston, near downtown or uptown, there’s no better shining star than the beauty and history of Texas Southern University – which has been teaching and preparing some of the best and brightest students and athletes for more than 75 years.

Part of the rich tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), students, alumni and fans of Texas Southern can now show their support for the university through new Texas Southern University Visa® cards, available through Regions Bank.

Our Texas Southern cards provide a new opportunity – as we have for many other HBCU grads – to show their support for their university every time they use their Regions debit card. Brian Jackson, head of Regions Consumer Products and Origination Partnerships

The TSU debit card and Now Card are available exclusively to Regions customers and can be used with all Regions Bank personal checking accounts, including LifeGreen Checking for Students®. They are also available for the Regions Now Card®.

“HBCUs are shining stars in our communities with a history and influence impacting generations,” said Brian Jackson, head of Regions Consumer Products and Origination Partnerships. “Our Texas Southern cards provide a new opportunity – as we have for many other HBCU grads – to show their support for their university every time they use their Regions debit card.”

Existing customers can order the card online through the Regions YourPix Studio® at regions.com/yourpixstudio, at any Regions branch, or by calling 1-800-REGIONS. If you do not currently have a checking account, you can open an account online or visit your local Regions branch. Once you have ordered the card, you can expect delivery in a matter of days.

“Texas Southern University is more than just a university; it’s a symbol of excellence in achievement,” said Dr. Claudius Claiborne, Interim Dean for the Jesse H. Jones School of Business. “Whether it’s academic achievements or athletic accomplishments, the new card is a tangible way for people who love TSU to show their affinity for the University. We are excited that our alumni, students, friends and the entire community now have an opportunity to show their Tiger pride every time they pull their card out to make a purchase.”
