3 Steps to Keep Your Business Safe from Cyber Attacks

The best defense is to take steps that keep you ahead of intruders.

By Doug Segrest | May 25, 2021

Cyber security threats are everywhere and growing. Just turn on the news for the latest, chilling examples.

Keeping your business safe is as important as anything you do. The good news: It’s doable. It just takes a little work and a common-sense approach.

“Having a cybersecurity governance and response plan is absolutely critical,” said Jeff Taylor, head of commercial fraud forensics for Regions Bank. “In the heat of the moment, knowing who to call, how to reach them, and their roles and responsibilities will help provide a formulated and structured response effort. Every minute counts, and you don’t want to be creating your response plan on the fly.”

Take a few minutes to consider these suggestions from the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (cisa.gov) to know which move to make next. Because the best defense is always staying one step ahead of those wishing to do harm.
